laca-reusIt’s that time in the season where the rumour mill for Arsenal starts taking place. A familiar face is involved and also a German international.

According to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, Arsenal have already found a replacement if Alexis Sanchez departs in the Summer. He reports that Arsene Wenger has spoken to Marco Reus regarding a transfer to the Emirates. Reus is a loyal worker for Borussia Dortmund and is known for being their key talisman. The German international can play on either flank or through the middle and would provide that extra quality to the Arsenal squad.

Is Reus the answer Arsenal fans are looking for? Personally I would love to see Reus at Arsenal. Reus’s chequered injury record is the only worrying sign for me. The reported sum would be in the region of £50 million which is an almighty sum for the 27 year old. I would also appreciate the signing of Reus even if Sanchez stays to provide that extra quality on the wing.

Arsenal also remain interested in Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette. Arsenal pursued to sign the striker in the summer of 2016 but saw a bid in the region of £30 million rejected. Speaking to French television station Canal+, the 25 year old believes his time to leave Ligue 1 has imminently arrived. Lacazette claimed that this summer will be the moment when he must have a change of air and discover something else.

The Gunners fans have argued that the search for a striker and continuous disappointment of the recruitment in that area has been the reason why we haven’t won the league since 2003/04. Is Lacazette the answer to Arsenals title challenging hopes? I would say yes, he has clinically proven himself in Ligue 1 with a great goal scoring record. He has pace and power to drive at defenders and would be open to leaving Lyon in the summer. So Arsenal, SNAP HIM UP.
