It’s starting to look like it’s coming to the end of the Arsene Wenger era at Arsenal. A new two year deal is still on the table but he will make a decision in the coming months whether he will stay or move on. Wenger has been at Arsenal since 1996 and has won 15 honours with the club. He is one of the most consistent managers of all time and has helped the club get to where they are now.

If Wenger does leave, we need a replacement of a high level. Here are a few of the potential successors I would like at Arsenal;

Massimiliano Allegri – Top tactician for Juventus and could attract top players. My current favourite to take over. Rivalry against Conte at Chelsea would be immense.

Jorge Sampaoli – Developed great football with his Sevilla squad. May lead them to top 3. Has worked with Sanchez for Chile but is a favourite for the Barcelona job.

Thomas Tuchel – Good philosophies. Developing some of the best young talent in Europe at Dortmund. However, his teams have shown frailties similar to Arsenal’s.

Diego Simeone – Tough, tactician, leader of men. Has helped Atletico Madrid become a consistent force in La Liga and the Champions League. However, his defensive style may be a deal breaker.

Luis Enrique – Has won the treble with Barcelona in 2014/15. Can be controversial tactically and has come under fire as the Barca boss. Maybe a fresh start will do him good. Has proven himself.
